NURSERY
I wanted to take a moment to share how incredibly proud I am of all our little ones. It's been so heartwarming to see them continue to settle into our nursery routine and expectations. They're all doing such a fantastic job developing their skills and growing more confident every single day.
Our recent topic, "All About Me," has been a huge hit! The children have really let their imaginations run wild, especially with our construction and junk modelling activities. You wouldn't believe the incredible things they've built—we've seen everything from cars and planes to a very long, slithery snake! We even worked together to build a boat in our outdoor construction area so we could all sing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" together.
We’ve also been busy with lots of fine motor activities. The children have been very focused on hammering golf tees into oasis boards—a great way to build strength and coordination! And of course, it’s been amazing to watch them practice sorting by colour. They approach every activity with such focus and enthusiasm, which is wonderful to see.
Thank you so much for your continued support from home. It truly makes a difference.
Just a heads-up, please keep an eye on your inbox for an email from me soon. I'll be sharing some exciting news about expanding our snack offer and a chance to get involved with some baking at nursery.
RECEPTION
Reception have been having heaps of fun over the last two weeks. They have been exploring our new addition to the outoor area "Hobbledown House!" and the mud kitchen area. Our budding explorers have been whipping up some scrumptious meals to serve in the Hobbledown Restaurant - delicious!
We have started exploring new phonics phonemes over the last 2 weeks including: s,a,t,p,i,n,m,d. We have explored these as initial sounds through 'What's in the box?' and the children have had the opportunities to practise their letter formations of these phonemes.
In English, we have been reading the story "Super Milly and the Super School Day". The children have loved creating their own super powers but also discovering their own super powers. We have lots of children in reception with the following powers:
super kind
super happy
super friendly
super helpers
I wonder if they have any other superpowers at home?
