Year 6: A Whirlwind of Learning!
This week, Year 6 students have been incredibly busy, tackling a diverse range of subjects. In Maths, they've plunged into the world of negative numbers, mastering calculations and interpreting complex line graphs. The revision for upcoming exams has also begun, with students demonstrating impressive focus and determination.
English lessons saw the budding authors crafting captivating narratives based on Esther and Olive. The emphasis was on using dialogue to reveal character and employing figurative language to paint vivid pictures for the reader. The students' creative writing is truly flourishing!
History lessons took a poignant turn as the class explored the significant impact of World War II on women. They delved into how the war dramatically altered women's roles in society, tracing the lasting effects that continue to shape our world today. Discussions were insightful, demonstrating a deep understanding of historical context and its modern-day relevance. Year 6 are showing remarkable progress across the curriculum!
Year 6 designers were busy this week! In DT, they created steady-hand games, crafting boxes from nets and building working circuits. The classroom buzzed with creativity and problem-solving, as students combined practical skills with fun.
You should spend at least 30-45 minutes completing the homework grid per week. We would prefer you to complete your home learning and submit it onto the Google Classroom. You may complete it on paper if required.
In total, you should spend between 1 hour and 1 hour and a half on your homework.
