It was great to catch up with so many parents/carers at this week's consultations. I'm sure you were as proud of the children's progress as we are as they certainly have been working very hard. Now the countdown is on for those going to Devon and many of the children are counting the sleeps! They will receive more information next week on what to expect.
We have still been working hard this week however before the excitement of the end of term arrives.
In English, we have been building up to writing narratives to entertain. We have used a storyboard to re-cap the plot of 'The Last Bear' and have carefully considered usinng expanded noun phases and figurative language to add interest to our writing.
As Mathematicians, we have continued to work with decimals. This week, we have been converting decimal numbers and fractions into percentages and our teachers are so proud of how competent we are.
In RE we have been discussing Christian beliefs around Easter and why this is such a significant time of year for many people. The children have questioned whether Jesus knew he was going to be crucified.
In DT we have had great fun collaboarating to build bridges. We discovered that spaghetti certainly isn't a suitable material for a bridge but wood is much stronger and hardwearing. We learnt how to use handsaws sensibly and effectively.
Reading Diaries
We would like to remind you that all children should be reading at least 5 times a week. Reading more together is incredibly beneficial and it will help the children in school, especially in their English lessons!
Homework Matrix
We have uploaded this half term's Homework Matrix to Google Classroom. We would love to see some of the work that the children produce!
Chrome Books
Chrome books should be brought to school and charged, every day.
