In our Literacy work, we have been reading 'Handa's surprise' we acted out the story and generated some brilliant adjectives after observing, touching, smelling and tasting the fruits in the story. We have now started to rewrite the story by changing the animals and fruits.
In maths, we have been finding out about 2D and 3D shapes. The children have enjoyed singing along to the shape songs CLICK HERE and HERE . They are pretty good at naming a cube, cuboid, pyramid and sphere with the 3D shapes and a circle, triangle, square and rectangle with 2D shapes. We have also been having fun making repeating patterns with the shapes.
In our topic work, we have explored a coastal area and a rural area in the continuing adventures of Paddington exploring where we live. We are still having loads of fun in art using the watercolours to explore what we can do with the paint and this week we picked out images that we found hiding in our paintings.
