What another great couple of weeks year 6 have had!
English
Our Year 6 pupils have been busy creating their own unique lizard characters in preparation for their non-chronological reports next week. They have been focusing on using powerful noun phrases, specific vocabulary, and parentheses to enhance their writing. We can't wait to see their finished reports!
Maths
The children have been diving deep into the world of decimals, exploring multiplication and division. They have been applying their knowledge to solve real-world problems and have been developing their problem-solving skills.
Science
Our young scientists have been conducting an exciting investigation to see if the distance between a light source and an object affects the size of the shadow cast. They have been carefully observing, measuring, and recording their findings.
Geography
In Geography, we have been exploring the factors that influence population distribution across different countries. The children have learned about push and pull factors, such as climate, job opportunities, and political stability. They have also been researching the differences between migrants and refugees and the reasons why people choose to migrate.
You should spend at least 30-45 minutes completing the homework grid per week. We would prefer you to complete your home learning and submit it onto the Google Classroom. You may complete it on paper if required.
In total, you should spend between 1 hour and 1 hour and a half on your homework.
Spelling tests will be every Friday
Reading diaries will be checked every Monday
