Dear Parents and Carers,
Another busy and productive week has flown by in Year 2! Your children have been engaged and enthusiastic learners across all subjects. Here's a glimpse into our classroom adventures:
Writing: We have finished our diary entries, imagining life as Captain Cook, and are setting sail for a new writing adventure. This week, we have been inspired by the book "Pirate Stew" to write our own creative recipes. Get ready for some imaginative dishes and detailed descriptions as we make a recipe for the yuckiest stew!
Maths: We have spent the last few weeks mastering division and are now exploring the world of measurement. We'll be getting hands-on, measuring in metres and centimetres.
Science: Our exploration of microhabitats continues with a fascinating new addition to our classroom – a wormery! We'll be observing the worms over time and learning about their important role in the environment.
History: We're stepping back in time to discover how schools have changed over the years. This week, we're focusing on what classrooms were like in the early 1900s. We will be learning about the different experiences children had at school back then and how it differs to what school is like now.
DT: In Design and Technology, we've been getting practical! This week, we explored different tools and techniques for cutting food safely and effectively.
