NURSERY
We are so pleased to report that your children have had a fantastic start to the nursery term! They are growing in independence and learning new skills every day.
Here are some specific examples of what your children have been up to in the past few weeks:
Independence: We have been encouraging the children to do things for themselves, such as putting on their own coats and bags. They are really starting to get the hang of it!
Learning skills: The children are learning new skills every day, such as pouring their own milk and peeling their own fruit.
Enjoying books and stories: The children love to listen to stories and read books. We have been reading "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" and Tales from Acorn Wood.
Playing games: The children love to play games, such as hide and seek. They are also learning new games, such as What's the time Mr Wolf.
Being creative: The children have been creating puppets and paper plate bears. They have also been painting and drawing.
Working on their motor skills: The children are working on their motor skills by riding trikes and scooters outside. They are also learning to balance and jump.
Meditating: We have introduced meditation to the children as a way to wind down after running about outside. They are really enjoying it and are becoming more and more relaxed.
We are so proud of the progress that your children are making. They are a wonderful group of children and we are enjoying having them in our nursery
RECEPTION
Reception have loved their week on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children have written speech bubble, acted out the story and learnt facts about bears.
We have also enjoyed reading We're Going on a Bear Hunt! We have sequenced the story and created some amazing art pieces.
We have visited forest school and searched high and low for mini-beasts.
We have reminded Reception of the behaviour expectations and that we follow the Golden Rules. Please reinforce this by having a conversation at home with your child about making good choices in school.
We have been doing phonics for the past 2 weeks. The children are doing an amazing job at recognising the sounds. Please practice at home with the sound sheet provided at Parent's Evening.
