What an exciting fortnight we have had!
In Writing, we have been exploring the book The Day the Crayons Quit and using it as inspiration to write our own riddles. The children have worked hard to incorporate descriptive language into their riddles. We have also been looking at coordinating conjunctions and how we can use them to add extra detail to our writing.
In Maths, we’ve been focusing on adding and subtracting using dienes. The children have been learning how to break down numbers into tens and ones, which is helping them gain a better understanding of place value and number operations.
In Geography, we’ve been comparing the weather and climate of hot and cold countries. The children are learning about what physical and human features can be found in different climates and how climates vary around the world.
In Science, we’re exploring various habitats and discovering the animals that live there. The children are developing an understanding of how animals adapt to their environments and how different habitats support different kinds of life.
In PSHE, we’ve been having thoughtful discussions about good and bad choices. The children are reflecting on the consequences of their actions and learning how to make responsible decisions.
In Art, we’ve been experimenting with different mediums to draw leaves. The children are using techniques such as blending to capture the textures and shapes of leaves, enhancing their observational drawing skills.
