EARLY YEARS 

NURSERY

Over the past two weeks, we've seen so many smiling faces and it's been wonderful watching our new children settle into nursery life.

We've been busy getting to know each other, exploring the classroom, and learning our new routines. The children have been absolute superstars at tidying up, lining up, and remembering where things belong.

Of course, it hasn't all been about rules and routines! We've had lots of fun with creative and messy play. Painting, playdough, sand, and water have all been firm favourites, and we've seen some amazing creations (and some very colourful hands!). The children have particularly enjoyed practicing their pre-writing shapes with paint – swirling, dabbing, and making marks to their hearts' content.

And the highlight of the fortnight? Meeting Coco, our new therapy dog! Coco has been a wonderful addition to the nursery, bringing lots of smiles and cuddles. The children have loved learning how to interact gently with her and she's already proving to be a calming influence in the classroom.

We can't wait to see what adventures the next few weeks bring!

RECEPTION

Reception have had a super two weeks! Our budding superheroes have been busy exploring their amazing selves and families in our 'Superhero Me' topic. From fantastic self-portraits to wonderful family drawings, their creativity is soaring! 

Early phonics skills are soaring as children confidently learn sounds and letter formation. We are already incredible results – those sounds and letters are no match for these super learners! We have been working hard to learn our new sounds and the correct letter formation. 

In maths, our budding mathematicians have had a busy week, we have been counting, building, and meeting and creating our own Numberblocks characters 1 and 2.

The fun continues outdoors with imaginative play in our new outdoor areas.  The mud kitchen has transformed into a bustling autumn recipe lab with conkers, acorns, and leaves as the star ingredients. Our exciting new hairdressing role-play area has also been a massive hit. Lots of collaborative play, everyone is getting the superstar treatment with fabulous new styles (and maybe a bit of pretend colour!).
