Headstart Day - incoming Year 7 students

We were thrilled to welcome our incoming Year 7 students for Headstart Day, our annual Year 6 induction event at LAB. It was a wonderful day filled with excitement, as students took part in an introductory assembly before heading off to enjoy a range of taster lessons, giving them a flavour of life at secondary school.

Throughout the day, students had the chance to meet others in their year group and begin forming new friendships. They also received their LAB Welcome goody bags, complete with their college ties, ready for September.

A huge thank you to our fantastic team of Year 9 student helpers, who guided the Year 6s throughout the day. A special mention goes to Valentina (9C), who even led an impromptu tie-tying tutorial for some very grateful students.

We are already looking forward to welcoming our new Year 7 cohort properly in September.

Alice M - 7C has been proudly representing the GB National Diving Team. Alice has been training for up to 21 hours a week alongside her school commitments. At the recent Swim England Diving NAG Championships 2025, held at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Birmingham, Alice competed against 31 of the top girls in her age group from across England and Scotland – the only athletes who qualified for the national finals. We’re happy to share that Alice brought home all three medals – gold, silver, and bronze – making it a remarkable achievement for her and for London. This is an amazing achievement, well done Alice.
