Congratulations to Coach Scalise and the Bayshore Cross Country Team on their outstanding performance at Regionals! Every member of the team ran their best race of the season, breaking personal records across the board. They all qualified for the championship cross country meet on November 10th.
25-26 Cross Country Season will begin Tuesday Sept. 2nd.
Cross Country is open to 6th and 7th grade students only.
This is a competitive sport.
ALL students participating are required to complete the following three forms:
District Acknowledgement Consent & Release Form
Physical Examination Form
Participation Parental Approval Form- (afterschool activity form; you need one of these for each activity you participate in after-school)
*Until we have all three forms on file you will not be able to participate at school.

We will meet after-school 2:10 pm- 3:15 pm MONDAY, TUESDAY AND THURSDAY
Pick-up is at 3:15 pm PROMPTLY.
Please park across the street at the sports complex and walk to the gate entrance to pick up your student. The front parking lot is closed.
** I WILL NOT CANCEL PRACTICE DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER UNLESS THE DISTRICT CANCELS AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES.
WHAT DO I BRING?
Please bring a change of athletic clothing if possible:
TANK TOPS ARE FINE (NO CROPS OR SPORTS BRAS WITHOUT AN OVER SHIRT- NO MID DRIFT SHOWING)
RUNNING SHORTS/ ATHLETIC SHORTS PREFERRED
MUST HAVE A REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE.
RUNNING SHOES
THEY DON'T NEED TO BE FANCY OR EXPENSIVE. JUST A GOOD SHOE THAT YOU CAN TIE AND IS COMFORTABLE TO RUN IN.
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND EVERY PRACTICE, UNLESS ABSENT FROM SCHOOL.
PRACTICES ARE MON, TUES AND THURS AFTER-SCHOOL UNTIL 3:15.

You should condition at home 2 days per week to keep your progress. Whatever works for your schedule.
At home workout should only take about 30 minutes and consists of: dynamics workout, 12 min run, 5 min cool down and core workout. * SUGGESTED WORKOUT BELOW
DON'T FORGET TO STRETCH TO PREVENT INJURY.
You don't need a large area to run as it paced intervals. Running up and down your street will suffice.
MAKE SURE TO BE SAFE AND DON'T RUN LATE AFTER DUSK. STAY HYDRATED.
