Documentation for Early Dismissal

Early dismissal notes and emails will not be accepted after 10:30 a.m.

Documentation from a parent/guardian is required for a student to sign out and receive a permit to leave (including students 18 years of age).  For the protection of our students, phone calls for early dismissals are not permitted.

Receiving a Permit to Leave:

• The BEST way is for students to bring a signed parent note to the Attendance Office before 10:30 a.m.

• Parents/Guardians can submit an email to VRHSearlydismissal@leanderisd.org from a verified parent email on file before 10:30 a.m.

• Notes/emails should be sent the morning of the dismissal and include:

  • • • Student's full legal name 

      • Student ID# and grade

      • Exact dismissal time 

      • Reason for dismissal

• If the situation does not allow for notice prior to 10:30 a.m., a parent will need to come to the main office to sign their student out. All in-person checkouts need to occur before 2:45pm. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your student needs to be released. Parents/Guardians must show a valid photo I.D. 

• No early dismissal emails are accepted the Friday before Thanksgiving break (11/21), Winter break (12/19), Spring break (3/13) and the last day of school, Thursday (5/28). Students must turn in a note to the Attendance Office before school begins to get their permit to leave on these specific days.

Please remind your student to sign back in with the Attendance Office if they return to campus the same day.
