Students taking specialized courses at another LISD high school campus are considered "subcampus" students. Students alternate between Vandegrift and the other high school campus each A and B day.
Vandegrift is always considered your "home" campus
Your alpha counselor is still your primary contact, however Mrs. Kendall (College & Career Transition Coordinator) will coordinate your schedule between VHS and the other high school campus
All standardized testing takes place on your home campus (STAAR, PSAT, school day SAT & ACT); AP exams may be taken at either campus
Students are responsible for conveying school-related absences to teachers, including subcampus teachers
Students are responsible for their own transportation to/from their subcampus. LISD provides transportation only for AFJROTC students to Leander High School.
Leander ISD students have the opportunity to enroll in various specialized programs at other district high schools if the program is not available on the home campus. These programs have limited availability, and some are subject to prerequisite course requirements. Students interested in a subcampus program should talk with their counselor during the course selection process and select the course by the course selection priority deadline. If there are more requests than seats, a lottery process will be conducted before the course selection final deadline to enable to students to choose other courses if needed.
Subcampus specialty programs: Air Force JROTC, Cosmetology
Subcampus specialty programs: Culinary, Health Science
