IMPORTANT NOTICES
Language Proficiency Testing
Texas requires students to take at least two credits of a language other than English to graduate from high school. (Three credits are required for the Distinguished with Honors diploma.) Students who speak a language other than English may earn those credits by testing. Students’ first opportunity to test occurs in the Spring of 7th grade.
Our FPMS testing date is Wednesday, April 3rd. If your 7th grader speaks a language other than English, please contact your counselor to discuss testing.
Examination for Acceleration
In accordance with state statute, LISD offers four opportunities each year for students to test for acceleration in core content areas. The next testing window is June 4-6, 2024. Testing will be computer-based and take place at Henry Middle School. The registration window for this testing session is March 26 to April 26, 2024.
Students who score an 80% or higher on the exam will be automatically advanced to the grade level IN THE SUBJECT AREA TESTED.
If you are interested in having your student test in the summer testing session, please contact your child’s counselor. Please note that this testing window is for placement for the 2024-25 school year (not this school year). There will not be another testing window for the 2024-25 school year. For more information, see the LISD Exam for Acceleration webpage.
Again, for more information or to register your child, contact your counselor:
