Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Leander ISD and your school counselors and staff recognize that mental health issues impact a large number of our students and we want to support students and families as they strive to build mental wellness and cope with mental health challenges.
This month, we want to encourage families to practice positive mental health strategies each day using the calendar developed by our district Student and Family Services Team. You can find it linked here: Mental Health Awareness Month Calendar for Families.
In addition, we will have activities at school to promote MHAM as well including announcements, mini-lessons, and more.
To learn more about how LISD supports student mental health, visit our LISD Mental Health Awareness Month webpage.
Each week the counseling department shares a social/emotional learning mini-lesson or short LISD-created mental health video on Mondays during student advisory. The video series can be found online at Mental Health Minute Series.
