We LOVE volunteers in the library! It's a great way to get to meet other parents and spend time on campus as little or as much as works for your schedule. We have some special events that need a lot of volunteers (see the Family Library Information Slideshow on the home page for event dates), we have some mornings in the library where adult help is appreciated, and we have some special projects from time to time (see below). The district volunteer information page and application form is here.
We want to make the Canyon Ridge Library the absolute best it can be for every student. To that end, we are always looking to create a variety of inviting activities and programs that appeal to lots of different learners. We serve over 1000 students and staff, so materials go quickly. Our Amazon wishlist is here, if you would like to support us that way.
We are looking for a tabletop fountain and some fun lights - a lava lamp or fiber optic lamp - for our Zen Den calming quiet reading room space. If you have one you're no longer using, we're happy to put it to use!
We offer a variety of new, student-appealing prizes (crafts, spa-ish, games, stuffies, random fun items) as incentives for reading challenges - and we’ll have some small art and writing challenges this year, too.
We are always looking for new items!
We can never get enough shiny beads, clasps, earrings, and charms for our jewelry making stations.
Have you built a fairy cottage (about 12 x 12 x 18 inches) that would be a great example for a design contest? We need you!
Do you have extra heat transfer Cricut vinyl in kid-appealing colors we could use to make t-shirts for clubs and activities?
We would love some!
Do you have a bunch of clean, flat river stones that would be great for painting kind things on and decorating our patio space?
We would love some!
We always need duct tape and washi tape in student-friendly colors for craft stations
We are looking for lots of giant coloring posters - our students love gathering around these in the mornings!
We would love Lego figures for stop motion videos and displays!
