DEADLINE: 11/21/24
Step 1: Choose a Group.
Groups can be no bigger than three people.
Choose a partner that will ENHANCE your project, not bring it down!
NOTE: You CANNOT change your group later on in the year! So choose a group wisely!!
If you find that you cannot work with your partner, you will both have to start the project over! (Choose a new topic, submit new proposals, etc.)
You CANNOT join another person's project once their proposal has been submitted.
Step 2: Pick a Topic.
Examples of SRI Topics - CLICK HERE
NOTE: If you would like to do a topic not listed that's fine! Just email Mrs. Hudson your topic idea!
Your topic must be be a scientific experimental topic that is in some manner related to the field of biology.
Your topic must be high school level!
For example: You cannot do an experiment about what would happen if you don't give plants water...We already know what will happen!
You must purchase your own materials and conduct your experiment at home, outside of class!
You must have 10 trials per experimental group!
This is especially important for groups who plan on using plants or insects! You will need enough plants and/or insects to make this trial requirement!
For example: If you were doing an experiment with plants and light, 10 plants will be placed in sunlight (control group) and 10 plants would be placed in darkness, and 10 plants would be placed in a room with moderate lighting.
You cannot experiment with an vertebrate organisms! (This includes, pets, fish, frogs, humans, etc.)
You cannot grow your own bacteria!
Step 3: Use Sign Up Genius to Sign Up for a Topic
SIGN UP GENIUS LINKS CAN BE FOUND ON SCHOOLOGY!
