Unit Overview
- Students will explore these questions in a range of texts from multiple genres.
- The anchor text for this unit is Hamlet by William Shakespeare, and students will select a complementary book club or independent reading book.
- Throughout the quarter, students will:
- study Hamlet through a multimedia approach, participate in literary discussions, and write to clarify ideas.
- annotate extensively with an online tool
- read a book club selection and participate in a variety of discussions and writing assignments.
- participate in a number of writing practice exercises
- work on specific writing/grammar skills
- produce and refine either a personal narrative or a college essay
- participate in a Socratic seminar
- reflect on their learning
