PLOT:
The story takes place in the countryside small village of Asahigaoka, a place lacking many of the conveniences that people from the city are accustomed to. The nearest stores are a few miles away and one of the local schools consists of only five students, each of whom is in a different grade of elementary, middle or high school. Hotaru Ichijo, a fifth grader from Tokyo, transfers into Asahigaoka Branch School and has to adjust to countryside life with her new friends.

Episode 10 SUMMARY: I Practiced Really Hard
In this episode we see the continuation of the relationship between Kaede, "Candy Store", and Renge. Even though it is Renge's oldest sister who is the teacher at the school, it is Kaede who takes the time to teach Renge a skill she so dearly wishes to learn.
When Renge is taken ill, we see again just how much that Kaede has come to care for her and likewise we also see how Renge demonstrates her appreciation for Kaede. The backgrounds are absolutely beautiful, especially the evening sky, and together with the music that accompanies the climactic scene, you can't helped but be moved.
If learning to ride a bike for you was, like for most people, a painful experience, you will appreciate this episode.
