When you sign-in to IMG/MER and you see this error message: "JGI SSO error KC 401" (see figure)
You have stale cookies and cached data.
Here are some steps to clear it.
Go to https://profile.jgi.doe.gov/ and click the logout link, top right corner.
Go to https://orcid.org/signin and logout too.
Clear your browser's cookie and cache.
Close and restart our browser.
Try signing in again at https://img.jgi.doe.gov/cgi-bin/mer/main.cgi
