On July 27, 2026, JGI moved to a new login service.
This change requires that you:
Create a new account on JGI's new service
Create an ORCID account (if you don't already have one) at orcid.org
Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA/2FA) for your ORCID account: ORCID 2 Factor Authentication
Associate that ORCID account with your JGI account
As part of this change, if you have access to private data at JGI, you will continue to have access to that data.
See detailed instructions on our Login Help page or further information on our FAQ page.
JGI's single sign-on (SSO) service allows users to authenticate their identity, provide additional information about themselves (when required) and be associated with bodies of work so they can gain privileged access to data before it is made public. Furthermore, when a user logs in once, they are logged in to other JGI sites that they visit.
As mandated by Executive Order 14028, JGI's new login workflow will require the use of multi-factor authentication to improve security. Additionally, as of July 27, 2026, JGI requires the use of an ORCID account for non-JGI employees to authenticate themselves.
