Create an ORCID account (starting from JGI's login page)
Authorize JGI to get basic info about your ORCID account (ORCID iD)
Associate your ORCID iD with your JGI account
Enable MFA in ORCID
What if I already have a JGI account?
...and an ORCID iD...
...that is linked to my JGI account?
Answer: If you have already linked your ORCID account to your already-existing JGI account, migration should be smooth.
...that is not linked to my JGI account...
...and both accounts use the same email address?
Answer: If the email addresses for your ORCID account and JGI account are the same, use that email address
...and each account uses a different email address?
Answer: If the email addresses for your ORCID account and JGI account are different, contact us so we can make sure that they get linked correctly.
JGI Account + NO ORCID
Answer: If possible, when creating your ORCID account, use the email address that is associated with your JGI account.

Is there anything I can do before July 27, 2026 to get my accounts in order or give myself less work to do on July 27?
You can create a login account for JGI's new system and do all of the ORCID work by starting at JGI's new login page, IMG or SMC.
