The ALC offers Family Literacy Classes in partnership with several Lawrence Public Schools (LPS) elementary schools (currently, Leahy, Wetherbee and Arlington Schools). Designed primarily for parents of children attending these schools, the Family Literacy Programs incorporate a three-pronged approach for parents and caregivers of LPS students: Adult ESOL classes at the Beginning ESL Literacy (Level 1) and Low Beginning ESL (Level 2) levels; Home-School Connections; and interactive parent and child literacy activities.
How to register at the different schools
Step 1: You will receive a letter from the school with information about the English classes available at Levels 1 and 2.
Step 2: Complete the enclosed form and return it to the school. A staff member will then contact you with the next steps.
