ESOL Citizenship Classes
The Citizenship preparation classes at the Adult Learning Center are designed for learners at English Level 3 and above. Focusing on Civics and preparing learners for their Citizenship interviews, these classes integrate speaking and writing skills necessary for the Citizenship test, while helping students increase all of their English language skills.
How to register
Step1. Complete the Inquiry Form on our webpage , if you cannot complete the online form, call Ph (978)722-8110 or stop by at 255 Essex st. 2nd floor Lawrence, MA 01841.

Step2. You will be contacted by a staff member within a few weeks to take a brief "speaking placement test." This will help us to assess your current level and place you in the most appropriate class.
Step3. All students are required to take a placement test before enrolling in classes. The test is used to assess each student readiness level at enrollment. Students are also required to take a post test. Students who complete the inquiry form will be enrolled when space is available. Our waitlist is extremely large therefore students may have to wait to be enrolled as space becomes available.
Naturalization: Eligibility Criteria
18 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME OF FILING.
APPROPRIATE TIME AS A PERMANENT RESIDENT.
CONTINUOUS RESIDENCE IN THE UNITED STATES.
PHYSICAL PRESENCE IN THE UNITED STATES.
TIME RESIDENT WHERE THE APPLICATION IS FILED.
GOOD MORAL CHARACTER.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE.
KNOWLEDGE OF U.S. HISTORY AND GOVERNMENT.
ATTACHMENT TO THE U.S. CONSTITUTION.
Requirements for Citizenship Course

Steps to Naturalization
Submit completed Form N-400.
Receive Form I-797C - Receipt of application.
Receive a Notice for Biometrics Appointment.
Biometrics; receive study guide for Civics test.
Receive a notice to attend your interview.
Attend Oath Ceremony.
Surrender your green card receive Certificate of Naturalization.

Tuesday and Thursday Morning:
8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Tuesday and Thursday Evening:
5:45 PM – 8:45 PM
Monday and Wednesday Evening:
5:45 PM – 8:45 PM
Saturday Morning:
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Cost
Classes are free. Books will be provided to students who attend at least 12 hours of class.
