Eco Leaders Summer Camp
In summer 2024, I was hired to collaborate in planning curriculum and facilitating an Eco Leaders themed summer camp for middle schoolers through Laurel. Each day had a unique theme addressing an aspect of environmentalism. The day I took the greatest lead on was "Changemaking 101," in which girls brainstormed how to make changes in their school communities and wrote letters urging local representatives to advocate for community solar.
Climate Fresk Certification
I attended multiple workshops to become certified in administering the Climate Fresk, an international program focused on spreading comprehensive, data-backed climate science and training citizens to be able to speak accurately about climate change. I, and other certified students, are currently planning an optional Climate Fresk for faculty, students, and families, at Laurel.
NYCL Youth as Solutions Grant
My fellow L.E.A.F. leaders and I are recipients of a grant from the National Council of Youth Leadership in the environmental justice category. This award gives us access to workshops for youth leaders and $1,000 to be used towards the summit or any L.E.A.F. projects.
Signal Cleveland Documenter
I am certified as a Cleveland Documenter, meaning I can apply for paid positions documenting local government meetings. All meeting summaries become available as a new public record, furthering collective political understanding and education
I created a video essay about capitalism's influence on the internet's depiction of girlhood and the exploitation of women and girls for profit. I also addressed how women of color are frequently excluded appropriated in the fashion and beauty industries.
Leave No Trace Training
I am trained in the Leave No Trace principles, which aim to make communities and outdoor spaces healthier by educating people on how to leave a minimal/positive impact on spaces they interact with.
Youth Climate Institute Certificate
The Youth Climate Initiative (YCI) is a year-long program that equips students with the knowledge and skills to address climate change. I received a YCI certificate for my work with the NEO Youth Climate Summit.
Smith Precollege - Women, Gender, & Representation
I applied for and attended a two week precollege program at Smith College. I took college-level courses on Gender in Spirituality and Queer and Trans Representation, each with culminating projects.
