The Hachette Schools website has put together five guides for Parents and Carers to support their children with the transition into big school. They include guides about talking to your children about the 'Growth Mindset', good habits and resilience. These are free to download and we recommend you go through them in order to understand a little bit more what your child might be feeling about making the move into secondary school. The Hachette schools website has also put together a programme to ease your child into transitioning into secondary school. We recommend that parents and carers encourage their child to work through the powerpoints on the programme. We also welcome parents who may want to do this with their child or let them work through the presentations independently. The children could go through one presentation a week and work through the videos and activities. They offer an activity pack which you can download and print for your child or they could simply write their answers in a book/ paper. The most important thing is to encourage your child to think about their move into secondary school and think about the attributes that will make them succeed here at Stationers' Crown Woods Academy.
