Ski Adventure in Folgarida, Italy
During February half-term, Leigh Academy Blackheath embarked on an unforgettable journey to the snow-covered slopes of Folgarida, Italy. This seven-day school ski trip became a landmark experience for the pupils, blending the thrill of winter sports with the breathtaking beauty of the Italian Alps.
From the moment the students set foot in Folgarida, the excitement was palpable. Nestled in the Trentino region, the picturesque village provided the perfect backdrop for an immersive skiing and snowboarding adventure. The Leigh Academy Blackheath group was not only greeted by the stunning mountain vistas but also by the promise of skill development and unparalleled fun.
The days were filled with the sound of laughter and skis/snowboards carving through the snow. Instructors guided the students through the basics and advanced techniques, ensuring that both beginners and seasoned skiers found challenges and joys on the slopes. The progress made by the pupils was nothing short of remarkable, with many mastering new skills and conquering steeper terrains by the day.
The evenings were equally vibrant, with the group coming together to share stories of their daily triumphs (and mishaps!) on the mountains.
The Leigh Academy Blackheath ski trip to Folgarida will undoubtedly be remembered. The trip not only provided a platform for skill development but also fostered a sense of unity and resilience among the students, leaving them with memories that will last a lifetime.
We're thrilled to celebrate the fantastic success of our recent production of Annie the Musical.
Annie the Musical, based on the beloved comic strip "Little Orphan Annie," follows the heart-warming tale of a spirited orphan girl navigating her way through the Great Depression. With its infectious songs, unforgettable characters, and uplifting storyline, this musical enchanted our audience.
Our production showcased the incredible talent and dedication of our students. From the passionate actors who brought the characters to life to the hardworking crew members managing lighting, costumes, and stage, everyone played a vital role in creating a memorable show.
A big thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to the success of Annie the Musical – from the students and staff who supported production to the families and friends who showed their unwavering support. Your enthusiasm made all the difference.
We were also very excited to welcome 180 Year 5s from some of our feeder primary schools to watch a special matinee on Wednesday - @Sherrington, @Charltonmanor, and @Invicta.
Huge thanks to the Year 5 students for their fantastic support! They thoroughly enjoyed the performance and were thrilled to recognise some ex-students. We can't wait to welcome some to LAB soon and hopefully see them star in future productions!
If you missed Annie the Musical, fear not! There are plenty more incredible performances on the horizon. Keep an eye out for announcements about upcoming shows and be sure to join us in cheering on our talented students as they continue to shine...
