Ilex aquifolium
Ilex aquifolium
The Holly Tree is able to bloom year round, and therefore will be recognizable in every season. In the winter the tree is most easily seen, as it is one of the only ones that will retain its leaves. The green spiky leaves will be a dark green with clusters of dark red berries hanging throughout the tree
The Holly tree is going to be blooming with brand new dark green leaves in summer, with new clumps of deep red berries sprinkled throughout the tree. The dead ones, and wilted ones will be completely gone at this point and the tree will be preparing for winter.
In the fall, the Holly Tree will be continuing to remain green and bright while the majority of the plants and trees around it will be turning brown and other colors. The berries will continue to grow and be looking healthy for the rest of the fall and into winter.
