In order to maintain the comfort of the game, we will use safety words. They can be used by anyone, at any time during the game. Their use is non-negotiable and should always be accepted.
If a scene crosses your personal boundaries, or if real physical or emotional harm has happened to someone, you can say RED loudly. All players involved in the scene will interrupt any actions of the character and react accordingly to the situation.
This word means a temporary interruption of the scene for a reason other than RED. It can be used by organizers who will have important information to convey about the scene. You can also use it to convey meta-information to others in the scene.
Example:
A and B draw their guns and get ready to fight. A notices that B is standing in a dangerous place on the edge of an embankment. A says "CUT" loudly after which he warns B of a possible fall.
We want to supplement the safety words with a gesture system. With it, it will be possible, without leaving the role, to figure out whether the other person is okay.
To check whether the other person is comfortable or agrees to escalate the scene, ask a question by gesturing "ok?" (join the thumb and index finger into a circle shape with the other fingers spread apart).
"Everything is ok" (clenched fist and thumb pointing up) - you can continue the scene without any changes. You can also use this gesture without asking, to convey that your condition is just part of the game and nothing is really wrong with you.
"I'm not sure" (open hand positioned horizontally with fingers spread, rocking from side to side) - you communicate to us this way that something bad is happening to you. If you see such a gesture, you should approach and discreetly offer to help, for example: bring water, interrupt the scene, take to a secluded place or to the off zone, ask someone from the organizers.
"It's not ok" (clenched fist and thumb pointing downward) - you must immediately interrupt the scene and take the questioned person (with their permission) to the organizers. There, medical help or emotional safety people will be provided. We can show this gesture without asking, to convey that our current state is not part of the game.
If you are sure that the person "asked" sees your "ok?" gesture, but does not respond - also stop the scene, ask and, if necessary, lead him to the organizers.
Important: If you want to use a safety gesture, be sure that the other person sees your gesture, and that you are able to see their reaction.
Alcohol will be allowed and available during the game, but we encourage you to consume it with caution and in moderation. Drunk people who impede the fun of others will be asked to leave the larp area until sober, and will be removed from the game if they violate the rules.
Only thematically fitting pipes will be allowed in the larp area, while cigarette smoking will be allowed only in the designated area outside of the main game area.
Important: use of illegal psychoactive substances is grounds for expulsion from the event without refund.
For our mutual safety, the use of open flames is strictly prohibited in except in the areas designated for this purpose. The buildings in the area are mostly made of wood and straw - it doesn't take much to cause a fire. It will be possible to use torches in the open as long as the fire is supervised at all times.
The game is very emotional and there may be a situation where you need to talk about what you are experiencing. During the hours of the game, there will be a person available in the off-game area with whom you can talk discreetly, recharge your mental batteries or take care of your comfort in other ways.
A well-equipped first-aid kit will be available throughout the duration of the larp. We will also provide transportation in case hospital care is needed.
In an emergency situation, when an injured person cannot wait, call for help loudly by calling out: DOCTOR, DOCTOR!
