General Guidelines

This category includes the armed not only soldiers but also other characters bearing weapons who, for various reasons, have chosen this way of life. You should invest in equipment that clearly indicates being on active duty:

• Armor elements: Particularly important for soldiers, e.g., kettle hats, secretes, and sallets; steel elbows and knees; breastplates, brigandines, and coat-of-plates; mail collars and bevors; pauldrons; leather or plate gauntlets. Most armor should be worn over thick clothing or a gambeson, which immediately gives the character a more imposing silhouette

• Gambesons or civilian clothing: Adapted for combat and for wearing under armor. 

• Imperial insignia: For the military, an element indicating affiliation with Nilfgaard is mandatory. 

• Non-soldier combatants: Those who are not soldiers will generally not be as heavily equipped with armor or battlefield weapons (halberds, shields) as regular troops. However, visible sidearms (swords, axes, daggers, crossbows, bucklers) are appropriate, along with attire suited to the character: practical and simple, featuring motifs typical of the character's origin.

Town Guard  - Guidelines for the Group

The character’s attire may reveal their past (e.g., former service for Redania or Temeria), but a tabard or another clearly visible sign of their current affiliation with the Imperial structures must be worn on top.

Ensure your outfit includes accessories that signify active duty, including partial or full armor.

Border Guard  - Guidelines for the Group

The foundation of your attire is an impeccable military uniform. Focus on black armor or a gambeson in Nilfgaardian colors (black and gold/yellow).

Complete your look with elements that signify Imperial authority: a clean tabard with the Great Sun emblem, polished steel components, and well-maintained weaponry.

Scoia’tael  - Guidelines for the Group

The foundation of your attire is layered clothing in camouflage colors: greens, browns, and grays, combining natural fabrics with leather elements. The signature look is defined by tall boots, belts with numerous straps, and hoods or scarves that allow you to blend into the forest background.

Complete your look with guerrilla accessories: squirrel tails attached to your belt or hat, trophies from fallen enemies, and fierce, ethnic decorations. Proper characterization (ears, beards) is mandatory.
