How should I study?
There are a number of different studying techniques available to use. However, not all of these techniques use your time most effectively.
For example, one method of studying could be to reread your notes. However, research tells us that the chances of you improving your memory of your notes from only rereading them is very slim. While rereading is required for any method of studying you choose, it is not an effective method on its own. Therefore, it is not a good use of your time if used in isolation from other techniques.
In contrast, distributed practice is a very valuable use of your time. It requires you to give your memory a workout in a way that rereading does not.
