Every pupil in Larbert High School belongs to a Year Team. Responsibilities for all Year Teams are focused on supporting wellbeing, attainment and working towards a positive destination.
Each Year Team is led by a Year Head and a number of Pupil Support Teachers. There is one key contact for each pupil within each Year Team and they will take care of all matters related to that young person.
You can find out more about our Year Teams here.
Each Year Team is supported by a group of S6 Year Team Captains (S6 pupils who are selected, via interview, to work within the Year Team).
They play numerous roles within the team including leading initiatives which reinforce positive behaviour/choices, working with pupils to help improve reports, supporting in BGE classes and providing an extra listening ear for the young people in their year group.
We have three nurture spaces at Larbert High: The Diner, The Study and Targeted Support. The spaces, centered around the principals of nurture, offer a calm and supportive environment when pupils need a little extra support.

At times, our young people need some extra time carved out to let them talk about issues impacting their lives. A referral can be made, via the Year Team, to our school listening service which is run by Mrs Cassidy.
We have engaged the services of The Spark and now have a counsellor working in our school four days a week. Our school counsellors work with young people for a block of 6-8 weeks. Referrals for counselling can be made via the Year Team.
A team of staff, led by Mrs Howie, deliver the Seasons for Growth Programme. Seasons for Growth is a programme for children, young people or adults who have experienced significant change or loss.
Seasons for Growth is based on the belief that change, loss and grief are a normal and valuable part of life. We examine the impact of changes such as death, separation, divorce, and natural disaster on our lives, and explore how we can learn to live with and grow from these experiences.
The SETUP is located within the school and stocks new or nearly-new items to support our commitment to eco-friendly working. Items include uniform, stationery, sanitary products and more.
We understand that many of our families are now looking to live more sustainably, and that teenagers grow at a rate where their uniform is barely worn before they grow out of it! We also recognise that buying new uniform and school essentials can be financially burdensome to many families, particularly in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are dedicated to working together with families to help improve the outcomes for our young people. Our Family Learning sessions cover a range of curricular subjects and wellbeing areas.
