What is Engineering?
It's all about being practical and inventive!
Engineers help to create, design and construct a range of different products. These can range from large buildings and vital networks like railways and bridges, to cutting-edge mechanics like aircrafts and robotics.
Engineering is one of Scotland's biggest growth industries and will play a vital role in tackling the biggest challenges we face, from tackling climate change with innovative energy solutions, to making advances in our potential to explore space and learn even more about our galaxy.
Why is it important?
Engineers come up with the designs and concepts we need in order to advance our society and creater better, more efficient solutions to everyday challenges. Without them, our technology simply wouldn't advance!
As Scotland is aiming to achieve a net-zero carbon economy by 2045, Engineers will be vital in coming up with cleaner, greener energy solutions without a decline in the quality of life for our citizens.
