College/University
In Scotland, tuition fees are paid for by the Scottish Government - this means that if you apply for a full-time course at college or university, you are likely to be eligible to have your course fees paid for.
Different eligiblity rules may apply if the course is part-time or is not based in Scotland - Find out more about part-time course funding here - Part-Time Funding
In order to access this funding, you will need to apply to SAAS (Student Awards Agency Scotland) each year to cover the cost of your course.
In addition to this, SAAS can also offer a number of different loan options and grants to help with the extra costs.
These could include Accommodation, Food, Gas/Electricity and Study Supplies.
To find out more about the support SAAS can offer, click here - Student Funding.
It may also be worth contacting your desired college or university to learn about their funding options.
Short courses
If you're not quite ready to go onto college or university, you may consider taking on a short course option.
These can be a great option during a gap year or if you are in part-time work to boost your skills and experience.
Skills Development Scotland offer funding up to £200 for approved, short courses called Individual Training Accounts (ITAs).
ITA courses can range from Construction, Healthcare, Management, Hairdressing and many others.
