Computing is a diverse sector that impacts on every other job sector. As technology advances and different possibilities become achieveable, the requirement for technically-proficient people who understand how computers work continues to increase.
Why is it important?
As time goes on, more and more of the systems we see in every day life are becoming computerised. From manufacturing lines to supermarket checkouts, technology has impacted how industries have changed and used the technology to make their services more efficient.
It is vital, therefore, that each of us work to learn how to work with the technology and utilise in a way that will be beneficial to our future job roles.

Important to know
Over 83,000 people are currently employed in the Digital & Technology Sector in Scotland. That makes it Scotland's fastest-growing sector!
Nearly 75% of those employed in the Digital Sector achieved a Level 7 Qualification or above (That's the same as an Advanced Higher or a HNC at College)
While growth is expected to slow, it is expected that around 90,000 people will be needed in this sector by 2032.
In 2022, Around 3,000 people in Forth Valley worked in the Digital & Technology industry.
