The Hydrobeings: A new way to look at the water cycle

Students led multiple projects to create a new way to learn about the water cycle and how it impacts our planet.  Click on the link above to view all the features of this project.

Students brainstormed how they can create characters that are like superheros to teach students about the significance of the water cycle and global conservation efforts. Clay models were made with the idea they would become figurines for teachers to use while speaking to the specific terminology, and we believe with the use of a 3-D printer it can easily happen!

My role was to facilitate the conversation, challenge their thinking, and purchase the necessary material for the projects and ideas. This specific project was done during the 2021 summer school term and with students who struggled to appear online and complete the needed work to pass. The outcome of the project was student engagement was high, attendance was excellent, and we supported the Water for Sudan initiative as a team.
