Reception

What a wonderful term of learning the children in Reception have had! We began our Inquiry by learning about Marcus Rashford and the impact he has had on developing free school lunches for children in the UK. We learnt about how to keep our bodies healthy so we made fruit smoothies! We also invited our Dads, Grandads and other important people in our lives to take part in a Father's Day Sporting Event.

Our Inquiry then steered itself to learn about leaders from the past as we started our learning about Pirates. We learnt about the famous Anne Bonney, Captain Blackbeard, Blackbart and William Kidd. We had a very special visit to The Historic Chatham Dockyard where we became Pirates for the day! We took part in a special Pirate workshop and also climbed aboard the HMS Ocelot, HMS Gannett and HMS Caviller.

We have been also thinking about the transition into Year One with Mrs Dunn and Miss Russell. We visited our classrooms and created our first pieces of work for display. We are looking forward to showing you our new classrooms on Monday 4th September.

Here's to another great year of learning in Year One.
