Here are our July photos from Room 9! We have been learning a lot about dinosaurs, having special cool summer snacks and practicing our graduation songs for August 15th! Happy summer!
We celebrated the last day of school with preschool crowns and bubbles! We spent a lot of time outside playing and doing fun summer activities.
We look forward to summer school!
During the month of May room 9 learned the life cycle of a plant by growing marigolds for their moms on mother’s day! We are still growing classroom plants as well. We also learned the life cycle of a butterfly and were able to watch our own classroom butterflies grow and release them on our playground! Some favorite stories we read about caterpillars turning into butterflies were The Very Hungry Caterpillars and Creepy Caterpillars.
We have been spending a lot of time outside for snack and doing special activities outside!

Here are some activities we have been working on during the month of March! We introduced painting in our fine motor choice time. We also celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with crafts, special treats and sharing goodie bags with friends. Our month theme for March is sharing and caring. Our favorite book based on this theme this month is Groovy Joe Ice Cream and Dinosaurs by Eric Litwin. Our kiddos LOVE this story.
Happy Spring and we are looking forward to April!

In February we focused on Valentine’s Day and stories. We’ve added another center in our morning daily center time of learning games with students such as categorizing, shapes, letters, number, turn taking, etc. On Friday Feb. 15th we had Pajama Day! And made many crafts in preparation for Valentines Day! Enjoy break everyone!
For the month of January we have been working on our letters, letter sounds, spelling and counting. Our students have been doing amazing with this! Also, our monthly theme this month at Prospect is Winter Fun. We have been playing outside in the snow frequently (when the weather is above freezing) and learning about snow. A favorite song of ours to listen to is Little Snowflake. I have provided the link to listen to at home! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbbKjDjMDok
Here is our friend Oliver working on spelling with ABC pegs
Please continue working on these things at home with your student! And be on the look out for fun activities you can do with them at home!
Thank you & Happy Winter J
