Themes were construction, snow and we will be learning about our senses. “I can see, I can hear and I can smell”. They all love music and books and enjoy music therapy. Several have aquatic therapy and work very hard in the pool. We love sensory such as playing in water, sand and snow. Our staff works well as a team to provide the best educational environment for our students.
Room 2
Room 2 has worked hard on keeping our bodies healthy by movement and eating all the colors of the rainbow. We’ve loved exploring our FIVE senses too. We made a special snack that resembled a snow person. Several students had fun creating a happy face to eat. Mr. Dan will be visiting to discuss dental health as well. He will show us how to brush/floss and keep our teeth healthy.
Room 2 will also be having the Children’s World Awareness Museum visiting. They will teach us about the Chinese New Year. We will have the opportunity to explore clothing, instruments, and artifacts. The Chinese Dragon Parade will also be done.
A special Valentines’ exchange will take place to show how much our students care about each other. We will also play fun games, create a sundae and watch a special video.
February will end with The Three Bears and how they worked as a Team to discover Goldilocks . Just like our students are doing, working as a team to learn and grow. That’s how we do it in Room 2. TEAMWORK!!!
Room 3 had fun with our Goldilocks and the Three Bears unit! We heard the story in books and on the computer, play acted with different props, sequenced the story on the computer and had many art projects related to our story. We even wore our Baby Bear headbands for a porridge party!
Now we’re beginning to think about Spring! We’re talking about Lion and Lamb days, and have a chart to track it! We have made ants and frogs for our bulletin boards. Our Unique curriculum for March focuses on Life Science – Zoo/Wild Animals. There will be a lot of fun activities surrounding this theme!
February is a busy month for room 3! We had a visit from the Children’s Museum in celebration of Chinese New Year! We heard about traditions, learned a song, tried on Chinese clothes and use chopsticks. We finished with a Dragon Parade! It was a fun celebration! Mr Dan, from Warren Co Health, taught us about dental health. Then our centers were about teeth and dental health. We celebrated the 100th Day of School and 100 days of fun with friends! Valentine’s Day was another celebration for us! Lots of hearts, activities and stories about friends! We also celebrated the colors Red and Pink! Everyone was encouraged to wear a special color! We’re looking forward to learning more about Goldilocks and The Three Bears after vacation.
Here in room 4 we have been doing a lot of learning. December was all about the holidays, red and green, and getting into the spirit of kindness. The children really loved hearing different holiday music, playing in the snow during sensory time and making themed crafts. Here in January, we are working on learning about the 5 Senses, blue and orange, and reading many more books. Our current favorite is “My 5 Senses” We are a hard working team here in Room 4! We cannot wait to see what the rest of the year brings.
During the month of May, we had fun learning about all kinds of insects. The children made beautiful bumble bees and lady bugs. We had the opportunity to watch our caterpillars grow into beautiful butterflies. During the month of June we will be learning about pond life.
We are so proud of all of the students in Room 5, they have made so much progress this year. Many of our friends will be going to public school in September. A piece of our hearts will go with each of them; it has been a great year!!!
Happy Spring!
The children in Room 5 have had a fun and busy month. We have been learning about construction and different kinds of tools. We had fun building with both small and large blocks using a variety of tools. We also made bunnies, chicks, and a variety of egg decorations for our classroom. We had fun outside on the playground. The children have been learning new songs about rain drops and rainbows.
As we re-evaluate the children for upcoming “annual reviews”, we are reminded of all the progress they have made since the beginning of the year. We are all so proud of them.
Our Unique curriculum theme for May is butterflies and moths. We will be learning about these insects as well as other things that grow.
The month of February was filled with several fun activities. We have been learning about sharing and caring, make believe, and dental health.
