I encourage you to take some time to have on-going conversations with your child about his/her learning styles and how using appropriate study tools and techniques may enhance their learning. For more information, visit the survey website and discuss the accompanying handouts ( Ways to Study, How to be Successful, Learning Styles Chart).
Bully Prevention stresses the positive behaviors we expect to see at school and the climate we strive for on campus – a climate of kindness, community and “Upstanders” – students who stand up for each other and take a stand against bullying.
Discuss the negative effects of bullying on students. Focus on thinking before you speak as you cannot “take it back”. Discuss expected behaviors, and what to do if students are being bullied.
We want students to lift each other up rather than put each other down. We would like to see those acts of kindness be contagious and spread around campus. We are also asking students who do experience kindness on campus, to pass it on by paying it forward and doing something kind for others. We encourage you to watch the video.
