Walk Leaders

The Lady Nelson annual Sail and Walk multi day adventure trips are a key part of our Summer Sailing program.

This page provides information for members of the Walk Leaders team on managing the responsibilities for this key role. 

As stated in the Sail and Walk document below, the Walk Leaders responsibilities  include:

• with the Master and Coxswain:-
  1. estimate the total trip time – the time needed for anchoring / dinghy launch, dinghy transfers and walk. See example below.
  2. prepare and brief passengers about the walk

• Passenger count at the start, during and at end of the walk

• Lead passengers on the walk

• Provide first aid as required 

• Communication with ship via a means agreed with the Master/Bosun
