Check: Orientation Schedule
*You cannot move into your apartment or dorm before 24 Mar, so arrange your hotel by yourself if you arrive earlier.
*No pickup service at the airport. Come to Makuharihongo Station by public transport. The “Welcome team” is a group of volunteer students who will take you to your accommodation.
*Be careful of when you will purchase your flight; your COE has not been confirmed to be issued yet. You should not stop over in another country and should fly directly from your country/region, with or without transferring.
*The Japanese Immigration Services Agency does not permit staying in Japan when you are not engaging in an activity as a "student" (e.g. sightseeing), and therefore it can be regarded as illegal if you come to Japan earlier than the designated arrival date.
*Do NOT enter with a short-term visa. The Immigration Law does not allow you to change the short-term visa to a student visa after arrival in Japan.
The details about the move-out will be announced in the orientation during the program.

(if you wish to get a part-time job in Japan)
A Student Visa gives you a status of residence that does not allow you to work. If you wish to work part-time in order to supplement your expenses, you need to apply for a “Permission to engage in activities other than permitted under the status of residence”.
If you work without the permission, or if you do not follow the regulations, you will be fined or, in some cases, you will be deported. Students with the permission may work for up to 28 hours per week. During long holidays, you may work a maximum of 8 hours a day.
Application for the permission can usually be done at the immigration section of the arrival airport. The application form will be sent along with your COE. You can also apply for it at the regional immigration offices after entering Japan.
When selecting a part-time job, you should make sure the work does not affect your studies. For example, working until late at night might affect your performance the following day.
