Did you know that you remain a King’s student after first year, even if you don’t intend to pursue Journalism or any of our humanities-based upper year honours programs (Early Modern Studies, Contemporary Studies, or History of Science and Technology)? Through our partnership with Dalhousie University, King’s students have full access to all the classes and services within the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science at Dalhousie. In the King’s Registrar’s Office, we provide students with academic support and help navigating these services from the day they are admitted until the day they graduate at Encaenia!
We encourage you to visit the Registrar’s Office in the first two weeks of the Fall semester
during our drop-in hours (Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm) to chat with an Academic
Advisor about your academic interests and to develop a degree pathway. This can also help make sure your first-year registration has you well prepared for your intended program in the Future.
We’re here to assist you with course selection and registration, course changes, grade appeals, transcripts, confirmations of enrollment, incorporating transfer credits in your degree (that might be you, IB and AP students!), scholarship and bursary information, and to help connect you with the people and services that will help you succeed (both at King’s and Dal). Our team of Advisors and Peer Academic Advisors are here to support you! You can reach the full Advising Team at registrar@ukings.ca . Our office is located through the blue door to your left when you enter the Arts and Administration building.
To formally welcome you into the King’s community, the University holds a Matriculation ceremony during your first Fall term of study. The ceremony signals the University’s commitment to the education of students, and the responsibility of students as members of the University. The College’s first Matricula dates back to 1803. Keep an eye on your institutional email for updates
If you have any questions related to your academics, please do not hesitate to reach out to us
