We have officially launched our 2026 Aloha Giving Campaign, a school-wide philanthropic effort that demonstrates collective impact to a shared cause through our kahua of kuleana. 

Ke Ali‘i Pauahi saw her kuleana to her people as her royal charge predetermined by the generations of ali‘i that led before her. By fulfilling that kuleana, she established a kahua, a foundation for haumāna to stand on that they are called to grow and strengthen throughout their lives.

With every act in service to our lāhui, we see kuleana as both privilege and duty. Kuleana comes to life through people, place and practices. Every day, volunteers share their time, donors create opportunities, educators inspire learners, students discover their purpose and community partners strengthen the places they call home. Each expression is unique, but together they create a collective impact that reaches far beyond any one individual. This is how Pauahi’s vision continues to live on.

Why this matters

This campaign...

• strengthens the KSH ‘ohana by working together to give to the Pauahi Foundation to contribute to our larger community through the Kaʻū Kū Mākaha Hawaiʻi Educational Resiliency Fund.

• can teach participating students the core values of our school (ex. aloha, kuleana, malama) by giving them an opportunity to serve a greater cause.

• shows that every contribution matters, and that collective contribution can make a large impact.

This year our campaign goal is to raise $2,500!

While we believe strongly in kahiau, giving without expectation of return, we also want to recognize and celebrate these collective efforts. As such, we have incentives for each $500 tier reached through this fundraising campaign. Once a tier is reached, dress days for the entire high school will be unlocked. No need for wristbands, and everyone can participate. Here are the tiers and the incentive that goes with them: 

• $500 - unlocks Halloween costume dress on 10/30 and Winter Week theme dress days (December 7-11)

• $1000 - unlocks once-a-month Aloha Wear Friday dress days (if we meet this tier, it can start as early as next week Friday, 9/25)

• $1,500 - will unlock the choice of a dress day theme, chosen by our student body

• $2,000 - will unlock a 2nd choice dress day 

• $2,500 - will unlock twice a month Aloha Wear Fridays, which will be designated as soon as possible.

To contribute to the campaign, donations can be made direct to the Pauahi Foundation via our special Aloha Giving Campaign form. 

Cash donations will also be accepted at the Student Life Center daily during school hours. 

Weekly updates will be announced via email and on our social channels, and once choice days are unlocked, we will send out polls to students to select those themes and announce when they will take place.

In total KS Hawaiʻi Kula Kiʻekiʻe donated $1,632 and raised over 186lbs of food for the Food Basket, Hawaiʻi Island’s Food Bank. Mahalo to everyone who contributed to these efforts to help a community partner continue their good works to help those in need!
