Stage 7 Group

We are learning to; 

• Convert between fractions, percentages and decimals.

• Solve square and square roots.

• Find the factors of a number.

To be successful we will;

• Learn the common fraction conversions off by heart (1, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4)

• Understand percent means out of 100 (so any percentage is already a fraction ie 20% is 20/100)

• Simplify our fractions.  Remembering what we do to the denominator we must do to the numerator and vice versa.

• Multiple a number by itself to find the square.

• To find the square root, think which number multiplied by itself gives me the original number (square in reverse).

• Understand that factors are all the numbers you can multiple to get a given number (ie factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12 - 1 x 12, 2 x 6, 3 x 4)
