5th Grade's Fall Performance

Fifth-grade students at Bearden Elementary celebrated the beauty of the Fall season through songs and short speaking parts that showcased their learning. They sang cheerful tunes about colorful leaves, cooler weather, and the many fun activities of autumn. Through their performance, students shared their understanding of how trees change from summer to fall—shedding their leaves and preparing for winter’s rest. The program was a joyful way to combine music, science, and the season's excitement.

Veteran's Day

Bearden Elementary’s Veterans Day Celebration was a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country. Students, staff, and families gathered to honor local veterans with gratitude and pride. The highlight of the event was the 3rd-grade performance, where students sang several patriotic songs to commemorate and thank our heroes for their courage and sacrifice. It was a meaningful day of remembrance, respect, and community spirit.

4th Grade's Musical Performance

Fourth graders at Bearden Elementary shine on stage as they present their winter musical. Through singing, acting, and teamwork, students bring the story to life while building confidence and creativity. From rehearsals to the final performance, they learn the importance of collaboration, expression, and dedication—celebrating the joy of music and the spirit of the season.

Recorder Karate

Fifth graders at Bearden Elementary are showing focus, perseverance, and musical skill as they work their way up the ranks in Karate Recorders. Through consistent practice and dedication, students earn new “belts” by mastering songs of increasing difficulty. Each level challenges them to improve their tone, rhythm, and technique—proving that hard work and determination lead to success in both music and life.

The fourth and fifth-grade students have been learning to play the recorder. Many students have mastered at least 5 songs on their recorders, and several have reached the black-belt level in Recorder Karate! Their hard work and determination have prepared them well for middle school band, orchestra, or choral music.

Knoxville Symphony

Our 1st- and 2nd-graders took a trip to hear the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra on Feb. 25. The concert was titled "Peter and the Wolf". Go Contemporary Dance Works acted out the story. Our students also heard "Walking the Dog" by George Gershwin, "The Waltzing Cat" by Leroy Anderson, and "Radetsky March" by Johann Strauss. Our students loved being at the historic Tennessee Theater for this special concert!
