Description of learning
These tasks are designed to:
Support students' in developing their curiosity of the topic
Provide students with information to generate questions
Provide students with the resources to explore and investigate the topic
This phase saw the boys actively immersed in the exploration of the Census. Through explicit teaching, the students learnt that the Census provides the Government with a snapshot of the country. It assists Australia, its states and Local Government Areas (LGAs) to ensure that the right services are provided for communities, and the data is considered in the design process. The learners explored the 2021 Census paper, critically evaluating the questions and their relevance, and were guided through the Census data for their Local Government Area (LGA).
