The KS Toolkit Contest is live! Help us test and improve the toolkit by submitting methods, sharing resources, or reviewing existing content.
This page explains how to submit a new article — whether you’re starting from scratch or have an existing draft you'd like to adapt. Contributions are reviewed by the KM4Dev editorial board before being published.
Each method and tool in the Toolkit follows a shared template, to keep things consistent and easy to browse. Your article should:
Be written in clear, concise English
Follow the structure outlined in this template
Include practical tips, examples, or adaptations when possible
(If applicable) reference any related templates, visuals, or materials
👉 You can browse examples in the All Methods or All Tools pages.
If you’d like help drafting or improving your article, we offer a custom GPT tool trained on the Toolkit’s format. You can:
Describe the method/tool in your own words
Paste an existing write-up or documentation
Ask the GPT to help reformat, refine, or clarify your draft
You may even ask the GPT to search online for useful materials to include in the “Resources” section
👉 Using the AI is optional — you can submit a draft with or without using it.
You can send your article via email to: 📬 kstoolkit@googlegroups.com.
Please include:
Your draft article, preferably as a Google Doc or Word document
Any supporting materials, such as templates, slide decks, or related guidance (attach them to the email or link to them in the document)
If your article includes references to external resources, documents, or web links, please include those clearly in the text.
📌 No need to format the article perfectly — the editorial board will review and finalize it with you if needed.
Once received, your submission will be reviewed by the KM4Dev KS Toolkit Editorial Board. They will:
Check for clarity, relevance, and alignment with the Toolkit’s format
Reach out to you if clarification or edits are needed
Upload supporting documents to the Toolkit’s shared drive (for long-term access)
Publish the final version and credit your contribution
You’ll be notified once your article is live.
Your submission helps expand the Toolkit for everyone in the KM4Dev community and beyond. If you’re listed as the contributor under “Who can tell me more about this method?”, other practitioners can reach out to you directly — fostering peer exchange and mutual learning.
