This course offers a very brief introduction to the texts in Western tradition of Literary Criticism up to the Nineteenth century. Though because of logistic and practical limitations the course includes texts from the Western tradition, it is expected that students will become aware of existence many alternative traditions and the limitations inherent in the Western traditions. If possible project-based learning will be extended to other traditions, including Indian ones.
