1. ABOUT SUPER CURRICULUM

Super Curriculum offers you the opportunity to develop learning beyond what the regular curriculum provides and is implemented using strategies to build essential skills that are linked directly to the Ten Masteries - Intellectual, Moral, Physical, Technology, International Mindedness, Emotional, Social, Career, Leadership and Creative.

The development of your essential skills is crucial in enabling you to be World Ready - ready for further learning at university, career development in the working world and better equipped to deal with any challenges you may face in life. The eight essential skills you will be building are:

During the super curriculum hour you will engage in dialogs and confront real life problems which would ignite your sense of curiosity and readiness to make intellectual connections as well as your ability to think creatively and critically and build your confidence to collaborate and communicate. This goes into building a portfolio of evidence that you will use to develop your personal statements and university applications.

Build specific essential skills under the guidance of your Sixth Form subject teachers in the field that interest you.

Students engage in support or revision guidance sessions to improve their academic attainment.

Embark on a professional learning experience that offers meaningful practical work related to your field of study or career interest.

5. REFLECTIVE INQUIRY

Reflective inquiry will be used to build your portfolio of evidence that will support your personal statements and university applications. As you work on building your skills, they will be preparing a digital journal (compilation of photos, videos, certificates, etc) which will be maintained throughout the year for teachers to provide feedback upon completion of each Super Curriculum component.

Writing reflectively involves critically analysing an experience, recording how it has impacted you and what you plan to do with your new knowledge.
It can help you to reflect on a deeper level as the act of getting something down on paper often helps people to think an experience through.
The key to reflective writing is to be analytical rather than descriptive. Always ask why rather than just describing what happened during an experience.
