Description
Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the real-life United Nations, an international organisation that aims to maintain international peace and security and promote international cooperation in solving various problems.
Objective(s)
To learn about the various committees, structure, and processes used within the United Nations through role-play.
To learn how to effectively communicate and debate through parliamentary discussion.
Research topical issues, formulate plans of action, and collaborate to draft, edit and pass a resolution that resolves the issue.
Who should sign up?
Students who wish to improve their communication and collaboration skills in an informal and formal setting.
Students who are interested in current global affairs, and enjoy problem solving
Prerequisite:
Positive attitude to problem solving and dedication to working as a team.
Formal/Business attire - will be needed during MUN conferences
The ability to find a solution to a situation or challenge
The oral transmission of information or ideas

MUN Conference
MUN Conference
An opportunity to attend National and Internationally hosted Model United Nation Conferences.
Students will take on the role of a delegate of specific country, who will then represent their nation’s interests and perspectives on a global issue. Delegates will then work together to discuss and provide solutions to said global issue,. The delegate will need to work individually and cooperatively during this process, with the end goal of fully resolving the issue by passing a resolution drafted by the delegates.
